  2. Well, I think he has mentioned 4 names for the fathers of Sociology; the one he first talked about is Max Weber who lived and raised in Germany.
Ok, so he was say Max Weber thought about class and suggested that everything involves in Sociology or even Psychology, it thinks about the group which I think why had been referring to the western modern world, it could be only his point of view and own theory; just like there are many Sociologists and Psychologists in the world that have different perspectives and sometimes it might be controversial...
(Also I like the part when he talks about different types of classes- Wealth, power and prestige.)

    It's just what I think...

  3. I don't think that he really meant that Sociology is the study of western modern world. If you have listened afer, he said that Sociology is the study of the groups of people and Psychology is the study of individuals. So it doesn't matter which country to explore.
Maybe it is not right, will see!

  4. well~"the sociology looks to the group behavior in the western modern world"is just what Max Weber said. It is just like each different socialist can has its own idea.In fact, every individual area will be observed and
    researched!

  5. He was talking about fathers of sociology such as Weber, Marks and others. Sociology looks at group behaviour within the western modern world. There are different classes in society and three elements to class according to Weber: wealth, power and prestige. Marks more pinpoints on conflicts in society. He said that as there are three main groups: working class, middle class and upper class, they are being in conflict. But it is not originally his idea, he took it from german philosophers. And what about upper class is that rich people are getting much richer in relation to the poor and the middle class according to the book 'Superclass' by Rothkopf

  6. Society is making up by classes, the elements determine that - wealth, power and prestige.

The boundaries kept the society working together are values, customs... bring to a consensus.

Actually, I think it is just a simple introduction of socialogy, however, there're still some simple stuffs of socialogy I dont know! What a shame!

On the other hand, I think I have more interest in capitalism! I will find it out after I finished all the homeworks!

Approach to teaching

Methods there are many, principles but few, methods often change, principles never do
